On October 4, 2018, the Military Appreciation Committee honored longtime donor, the Downtown State College Improvement District (DID). For several years, DID retailers have raised funds for the Penn State Military Student Fund by giving money directly or providing proceeds from their business operations.
Eugene McFeely, Penn State’s Senior Director for Veterans Affairs and Services, and Mark Rudloff, a member of the Military Appreciation Committee, presented the DID Executive Director Rob Schmidt and Marketing and Communications Director Lee Anne Jeffries with a stewardship plaque for their efforts.
This year, the DID members will again raise funds during the Military Appreciation First Friday event on Nov. 2, from 5-8 p.m., on the 100 Block S. Fraser Street in State College. Please come out to support this event and the critical efforts to raise funds for our student military servicemembers, veterans, and their families!
