What was your favorite military assignment/duty station and why? Deploying with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit because I got to travel all over the world and work with Marines and Sailors that really opened my eyes to what the world and the military has to offer. I got to go to Guam, Vietnam, Thailand, Djibouti, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and two other Middle Eastern countries.
Rachel Nostrant, Marine Corps, spent five and a half years on active duty serving as a Middle Eastern Cryptologic Linguist. She was stationed on the west coast at Camp Pendleton, CA and in Monterey, CA, then deployed to North Africa and the Middle East. She loved spending her time hiking with friends and studying the Arabic language and culture. Rachel then came to Penn State to major in International Politics and Journalism. Rachel plans on graduating in 2021 and is currently applying to law school.
