What was your favorite military assignment/duty station and why?

Gerome Q. Banks, Air Force and Army, enlisted in the Air Force as a mechanic. While stationed on the island of Guam, Gerome was detailed out to the protocol office working directly for the commanding general of Andersen Air Force Base. In that role he managed all of the distinguished visits, ceremonies, and customs and courtesies. He separated from the Air Force then joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, then the Army Reserve and worked in number of career fields including, finance, logistics, and human resources. Gerome spent 16 years as an Airman and Soldier, both enlisted and commissioned. He also worked as a civil servant for the Department of Defense as a protocol officer and for various general officer levels of the Air Force and Army, culminating as the protocol program director for the Army Reserve. Gerome currently works as a Program Manager with the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State.
