What was your favorite military assignment/duty station and why? 882nd Airborne Division in Saudi Arabia and Iraq (Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm) because it was an honor to serve in this great unit with a storied history dating from the First World War to the present.

Charles V. Maurer​, Army, has been married to Jennifer Maurer (M.A., College of Education, May 2001) for nearly 20 years. Born and raised in Pottsville, PA, he and Jennifer currently reside in Smithfield, VA with their dog Rusty, a 90 pound German Shepherd, and 3 cats. Since being medically retired from the Army in 2017, Chuck has worked as a civilian attorney for the U.S. Navy.
