What was your favorite military assignment/duty station and why? My first and last duty assignments were my favorites. My first assignment as a young Airman was Iraklion Air Station on the Greek Island of Crete. This was my first time outside the US and I immersed myself into the culture, learned the language and lived off base when I could. To this day 40 years later, I still have close friends, both Greek and American, that I met during this tour.

Charles “Chuck” Kramer, Air Force, Senior Master Sergeant (ret), is part of a large Penn State family. Chuck served 33 years in the Air Force, spending his last nine years at McGuire AFB, NJ. There he served as a First Sergeant for 3 different squadrons. Next to being father, serving the Airmen of the 514th Air Mobility Wing was one of the most rewarding things he has ever done. His son Breydon is a Penn State graduate and currently a Staff Sergeant in the squadron Chuck retired out of. Chuck also has siblings, nephews and countless friends who are Penn State graduates and has himself taken several certification courses at the Great Valley Campus during his career. Chuck’s other son is currently in his junior year at main campus.
