David Keith Furchner

David Keith Furchner, Navy, Commander (ret), is a 1972 Penn State graduate majoring in speech communications. David was stationed in Norfolk, VA and various reserve unites in the Northeastern region. He directed Naval Reserve Intelligence units tasked with providing direct intelligence support to forces within the U.S. Atlantic Command in the form of current situation analysis, collection management and long-range assessments and threat estimates. He currently works at Penn State as the Director, Education Alliance – Business to Business, Military and Federal Government Sectors at Penn State University, World Campus. The Furchner family is a Penn State family. David met his wife at Penn State; all three grown children are Smeal College of Business Graduates; one son was on the Penn State Lacrosse team; and he is an avid Nittany Lion Club member.
